DEI Statement
Human Flourishing For All
We are committed to building equitable paths to entrepreneurship. Across our work, we empower team members, founders, and businesses who reflect and serve the diversity of the world. We value differing voices, backgrounds, and experiences and continually look for ways to break down barriers. We do this because celebrating individuals as their unique selves unlocks potential and empowers us all to thrive.
Prota Pledges
- Engage underrepresented groups on our teams and executive leadership.
- Encourage diversity in what leaders do.
- Protect against retaliatory actions toward individuals who raise concerns or call attention to actions that go against Prota’s values and principles.
- Address challenging issues through healthy dialogue and conflict mitigation.
- Hold individuals accountable for their actions, while also creating space for team members to acknowledge their mistakes and change.
- Identify and remove own organizational biases that violate our values and principles or limit human flourishing.
- Actively seek out new and different recruiting, deal flow, and investment channels to be more welcoming and engaging more diverse people.
- Increase the visibility of underrepresented entrepreneurs in the Prota network so that they have access to talent and resources.
- Increase transparency and standardization for compensation in order to create greater pay equity.
- Aim to make our UIs and products as accessible as possible.
Individual Pledges
- I will do my part to help Prota fulfill its corporate DEI pledges and goals.
- I will take meaningful steps to identify, understand, and overcome my own biases.
- I will get outside my comfort zone to learn about the experiences and perspectives of others so that I become more aware and empathetic.
- I will be willing to engage in complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations.
- I will work in good faith to identify things that may go against our DEI policy, even if the action doesn’t offend me personally.
- I will take responsibility for my actions, and when needed, apologize and make an effort to change my behavior.
- I will work toward a shared resolution when actions are out of alignment with Prota’s principles and DEI policies.
